About Us:<\/strong>
\nThe Federa\u00e7\u00e3o Futebol Timor-Leste (FFTL) is the governing body of football in Timor-Leste, dedicated to fostering the development and success of football at all levels across the nation. We are on the lookout for a highly skilled and committed Legal Officer to become a part of our team. This role offers a unique opportunity for a legal professional with a deep passion for sports to play a significant role in the advancement and governance of football within Timor-Leste.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Devote full time and attention during office hours to the duties of the office, promoting and protecting FFTL’s interests with faithfulness and diligence.
\n– Protect the organization against litigation and reputation risk.
\n– Provide legal support across all football activities, including grassroots, youth, senior, and professional games.
\n– Deliver effective legal advice on FFTL’s full range of contentious and non-commercial legal needs.
\n– Offer legal disciplinary support to the National teams of Timor-Leste.
\n– Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements involving FFTL, including sponsorship, player contracts, and partnership agreements.
\n– Ensure compliance with national and international football regulations, including FIFA and AFC rules.
\n– Liaise with and provide instructions to external legal counsel as required.
\n– Research regulations and policies affecting football organizations and advise FFTL on necessary actions.
\n– Manage FFTL’s intellectual property portfolio, guiding on and obtaining new protections as needed.
\n– Develop strong relationships across departments to address legal issues effectively.
\n– Provide legal coaching and advice to FFTL team members across various departments.
\n– Exhibit strong communication and negotiation skills.<\/p>\n

Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n

– 2-3 years of experience as a Legal Officer.
\n– Master’s Degree in Law preferred.
\n– Strong understanding of the legal framework governing sports organizations.
\n– Exceptional negotiation, drafting, and legal analytical skills.
\n– Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
\n– Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
\n– Commitment to integrity, transparency, and accountability.
\n– Passion for football and comprehensive understanding of the football landscape in Timor-Leste and internationally.<\/p>\n
