Concerning the results of the FFTL Extraordinary Congress held on Friday, November 10, 2023, it was announced that the President of FFTL and One of the Executive Committee Members have resigned from their positions. Therefore, the objective of the upcoming congress is to complete the restructuring of FFTL for the period 2022-2026.
According to Article 32.1 of the FFTL Statute (Edition 2021), FFTL Association Members (MAs) received notification on November 12, 2023, that the election of members for the FFTL Executive Committee (2022-2026) will take place at the FFTL Congress in Dili, Timor-Leste, on January 10, 2024.
FFTL Member Associations (MAs) have until November 27, 2023, to submit the names of candidates to participate in the election for the FFTL Executive Committee, according to the requirements specified in the FFTL Statute (Edition 2021) and the FFTL Electoral Code (Edition 2021) for positions and names as follows:
- Position of FFTL President:
- H.E. Françisco Kalbuadi Lay.
- H.E. Nilton Telmo Gusmão dos Santos.
- Position of Executive Committee Member:
- Augusto Henrique.
- Domingos Gouveia Moniz.
Based on Article 12 (FFTL Electoral Code), the FFTL General Secretariat has a three-day deadline (December 5-8, 2023) to process the Appeal Committee regarding the decision of the Electoral Committee.
The final list of candidates will be published 30 days (December 11, 2023) before the FFTL Congress as stipulated in Article 14 of the FFTL Electoral Code (Edition 2021).
