On the occasion of the AFC Women’s Football Day on 8 March 2024, a vibrant celebration unfolded, dedicated to empowering women in football. The event was divided into two significant sections, each contributing to the advancement of women in Football.
Seminar for Women in Football:
A pivotal seminar was conducted to empower and educate women actively engaged in football. Over 50 participants, including women players, coaches, referees, and officials, attended the seminar.
Friendly Match:
The celebration also featured an exhilarating friendly match originally scheduled between AD. SLB LAULARA and MAUDOKO FC, the Champion Clubs of the Timor-Leste Women’s League 2023/24. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the clubs were unable to participate. Nonetheless, the girls from the Youth Academy Team enthusiastically stepped in to replace them and played against the men’s team from the Youth Academy as well.
The match was filled with excitement, showcasing skillful plays and competitive spirit. Both teams exhibited exceptional teamwork and determination, embodying the essence of sportsmanship and Friendship.
