Dili, Timor-Leste – February 2, 2024 – The Federação Futebol de Timor-Leste (FFTL) celebrated the conclusion of the 2023/24 Women’s Football League season with a grand closing ceremony held at the Xanana Sports Centre, FFTL House. The ceremony brought together players, coaches, and officials to celebrate the achievements of the league season.
The FFTL General Secretary, Mr. Gregorio Correia along with other dignitaries, delivered speeches that underscored the importance of women’s football in fostering equality, discipline, and unity within the community.
Awards were presented to outstanding players and teams including AD SLB LAULARA, MARANATHA FC, MAUDOKO FC, UNITAL FC, NAIN FETO FC, and representatives from other clubs recognizing their hard work, dedication, and exceptional performance throughout the season. The highlight of the ceremony was the crowning of the 2023/24 season champions, who lifted the trophy amidst cheers and celebration from the guests.
The FFTL’s closing ceremony was not just a celebration of the end of the season but also a testament to the growing popularity and support for women’s football in Timor-Leste. As the 2023/24 season concludes, the FFTL is committed to continuing its efforts in promoting gender equality in football and providing more opportunities for women players in Timor-Leste.
